Some classical texts treat Kesari and Gajakesari as identical; others distinguish them by requiring Jupiter to be in its own, exaltation, or moolatrikona sign for the fuller "Gajakesari" appellation. In common usage, Kesari denotes any Jupiter-in-kendra-from-Moon formation that confers a commanding personality and public authority.
How it forms
Jupiter must be in a kendra (1/4/7/10) from the natal Moon. The Moon and Jupiter should ideally be free from malefic aspects or conjunction for the yoga to operate at full strength.
