Marriage Muhurtha 2026 in Haridwar

Rohini, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati, Mrigashira, Hasta, Swati, and Anuradha are considered highly auspicious for Vivaha. Uttara Phalguni is regarded as the single best nakshatra for marriage — it is ruled by Aryaman, the deity of marital bonds.

Venus (Shukra) is the planetary significator (karaka) of marriage, love, and marital happiness. When Venus comes within 8° of the Sun it becomes combust (Asta) and loses its positive influence. Marriage during Shukra Asta is traditionally avoided as it may weaken the bond of the relationship.

Amavasya (New Moon day) is generally avoided for marriage. The Moon, which governs emotions, relationships, and the mind, is at its weakest on Amavasya. Shukla Paksha (waxing fortnight) is strongly preferred for Vivaha Muhurtha.

Chandrashtama is when the Moon transits the 8th sign from one's natal Moon sign. It is a period of emotional vulnerability and inauspiciousness. Both the bride's and groom's Chandrashtama must be cross-checked before finalising a marriage date.
